Money safety
Parachute is designed so that you stay in control of your funds and can stop the bot at any time. This page explains the non-custodial model and each safety control.
Non-custodial by design
The bot trades on your own Kalshi account using your Kalshi API credentials. It places and manages orders through the Kalshi API — it cannot withdraw funds from your account. Money never moves to Parachute.
Your Kalshi private key is encrypted with AES-256-GCM before it is stored, and decrypted only when needed to sign requests to Kalshi.
Daily loss limit
You can set a daily loss limit from the money-safety card in Bot Control. It caps how much the bot is allowed to lose in a single day before trading is halted.
Kill switch
The kill switch halts trading immediately. Use it any time you want the bot to stop placing new orders right away.
Churn auto-halt
If your subscription is canceled or lapses, the bot is automatically halted — it will not keep trading on an inactive subscription. Resubscribing resumes it. See Billing.
What "scan-only" means
When the bot is scanning but not trading, it is still watching markets and running its decision funnel — it just is not placing orders. This is normal and expected: for example, when no eligible crypto markets are open, or when a safety control has halted trading. You can watch scan activity on the Trading Operations tab.
