What-if replay

What-if replay is a fast, free preview inside the Tune canvas. When you edit certain threshold dials on a stage, a What-if block appears in that stage's panel and replays your candidate settings against the last 30 days of recorded market scans — instantly, without spending a backtest run.

It is read-only: it never changes your configuration.

What it shows

  • Signal count — how many candidate signals your edited settings would produce over the window, next to how many actually occurred.
  • Edge estimate — the bot's model-implied edge at entry for those signals. This is labeled explicitly as the bot's edge estimate at entry, not realized profit or loss.

Truth badges

Because the quick replay only covers threshold-style dials, each preview carries a badge showing how faithfully it reflects your edits:

  • Replayed exactly — the preview fully reflects the change.
  • Approximate — the preview is a close approximation.
  • Full backtest only — some of your edited settings are not included in the quick preview and can only be evaluated by a full backtest.

When you want realized outcomes

What-if is a preview of how a change reshapes the bot's decisions, not its settled results. For realized-outcome results over historical data, run a Backtest.
